The building safety certification scheme was introduced in 1995 to help improve safety standards on building sites. The aim of the scheme is to have a minimum thorough of health and safety training to help sacrifice accidents in the building industry.

How do I get a Cscs Card?

Red Card.

The red cards are for new or recent entrants to the building industry.

Green Cards.

The green card is usually ready to operatives who only carry out basic site skills.

Blue Card.

You may qualify for a blue skilled card if you have achieved an Nvq or Svq level 2.

Gold Card

You may qualify for a gold skilled card if you have achieved an Nvq or Svq level 3, or if you have completed an beloved indentured apprenticeship (e.g.with Njcbi, Batjic etc)

Black Card

The black card is ready for manager occupations.

Achievement of an Nvq or Svq level 4 or 5 in a relevant occupation is required to apply for this Cscs card.

White / Yellow

The white/yellow professionally excellent person (Pqp) card is for competent assessed members of Cscs beloved pro Bodies, such as Ice, Ciob, and Rics.

White / Grey Card

This card covers building related occupations not covered by the other categories of card and shows the holder's occupation.
